Are You Thinking Outside of the Box? – Part 2

So last week we looked at a 9-dot puzzle. I encouraged you to “think outside of the box.” Did you spend some time pondering what that might mean for you, the dentist? Even if you didn’t, I have plenty of ideas. That’s the blessing of being an entrepreneur – we don’t lack for ideas and potential solutions.

First things first – here is an image of what thinking outside of the box for the 9-dot puzzle could look like.

Now I want you to think differently in relation to how much leisure time you may have. You know the schedule you have. Outside of the time you currently spend at the office, ask yourself, WHAT could I do within my current time availability? Keep asking WHAT questions. Could you see patients later on a specific day, which would allow you to join a golf league on another day? Could you begin your day earlier, get paperwork done, do miscellaneous business owner stuff, then take a long lunch  and work out or go for a bike ride?

I’m sure you see the point I’m making. We just looked at leisure time – this can be applied to every area of your life. You will not get anywhere asking HOW questions. You will, though, by asking WHAT questions. What can I do, with what I have, that would allow me to . . .? By asking WHAT questions, we shift our paradigm from what it currently is, to what you would like a situation to be. We bridge the gap.

NEW-Product_Deanna2If you would like some help with thinking outside of the box of your current situation, I’d love to assist you. Check out our program “7 Best Practices for Joy & Success.”

Strength – Look with a fresh perspective, think creatively about a current situation, be hopeful.

Dignity – No blaming someone else for your situation – take full responsibility, and KNOW that you can change your circumstances.

Grace – Go easy on yourself if you couldn’t figure out the puzzle, or haven’t known how to bridge the gap up until now.

Let me know if you were able to figure out the puzzle on your own, or if you needed to wait for the answer this week.
